Veronica and Sahan Kamara are hard working, loving parents to Selena and Nalah. Eager to pass down the core values that have defined their lives to their children, they started putting pen to paper. Together with Veronica’s vision and love for rhymes and Sahan’s thoughtful direction… Build Up Publishing was born.

Jennifer Sonkin is an award-winning art educator and a gifted multimedia artist. She embeds creative mixed media designs into authentic photographic moments to capture the playful nature of her subjects. Jennifer finds joy in helping others discover meaning through visual storytelling. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Art Institute of Chicago and her Master of Arts in Art Education from The Maryland Institute College of Art. For twenty-three years, Jennifer has served as a skilled K-12 art educator in D.C. area charter and public schools.
